One day, a friend of ours came with the idea to spend a long weekend in Dublin, Ireland. To be honest I hadn’t thought until then to visit this place. I didn’t know much about it and more than that, this vacation should happen in December … cold, rain, a dream for me.
After I research on google, as any person who get ready for a trip does, we decided to give it a go to the Irish winter. We found a very convenient package with a few hundred euros per person so we took the flight by Ryanair and made a booking at a decent hotel in downtown.
We landed in Dublin in the evening, the weather was much like in London, cold, rain and high humidity in the air. We took a taxi to the hotel, it was very late, we were already tired from the road and around midnight we took the room. The hotel’s restaurant was already closed but we came across a helpful receptionist, otherwise romanian, which recommended us to order some packages, because at that time there was no restaurant open. Said and done. He gave us a leaflet with Chinese food and we ordered. I must say it was the best Chinese food I have ever had in my entire life! When I think about that flavor and how well made they were, I still drool. I think they put a spell on it otherwise I can not explain myself 🙂
With full bellies and taste buds in delirium, we went to sleep, because the next day we had to discover this surprising charming city.
There are several attractions in Dublin and in three days, we have reached the most important. Ireland is the country where Guinness beer and Jameson whiskey come from, so there are two important factories, museums today, which you can visit and more importantly, teach you how to make a perfect pin and some cocktails with whiskey that you lick your fingers. At the end of our two visits, each of us received a whiskey tasting certificate and one for beer pints preparation, to frame them with pride.
Another attraction is the city center, where the nightlife was greatly expanded and are innumerable restaurants and pubs. The food is almost like in England, fish and chips, but I found places in which * fish * means lobster… which is not bad at all.
What I thought was sensational in terms of shopping, it is that we found a local store with a lot of beautiful products at very low prices. And how Christmas was coming in two weeks, I filled a suitcase of gifts for everyone.
What has been deeply graved into my mind after this trip? Dublin is a beautiful city with beautiful, kind and cheerful people. There were three days of relaxing, visiting, not very much as it was, on one hand, but there are not so many things to see beside pubs …. many pubs, and I made shopping as I did not expected to do! Dublin seemed to me the younger brother of London, modest, I would say slightly provincial and with the mood for fun.
If you want to relax and unwind a little, I recommend a trip of no more than three days in Dublin, in the spring or summer and you will see a different city, full of life and fun!

The Guinness Brewery

Dearfully,
An interesting discussion is worth comment. I think that you should write more on this topic, it might not be a taboo subject but generally people are not enough to speak on such topics. To the next. Cheers
