I think that a woman, regardless of age, needs to wear lipstick every time she leaves the house. Lipstick, for me, is like underwear, without it I feel empty and pale.
I met a lot of women who did not wear lipstick of any kind, even when they had an event. Their reasons are many, they do not like it, do not feel good, do not fits them, their lips are too thin and so on. A lot of negations, one more convincing than another… from their own to themselves. The truth is that we are often afraid to try something new, we have a comfort zone from which we do not want to depart and try to find ourselves, reasons, to stay in the sphere created by us.
The morning for me is madness, the baby, animals, the preparation for office and 2 hours until I get out of the house so I have maximum 10 minutes left for make up. Now, between us, if I were an expert, I would not have done much in that 10 minutes. So, I apply a foundation for my skin, mascara and blush … and believe me if I would leave the house in that way, I would look slightly sick. Why? Because I’m pale and my complexion is very white. The foundation is just for uniformity, not for color because I do not want to have the color of my face other than the rest of the body.
I get to the door and before I leave the house, I search in the bag for my lovely lipstick: always red (or newer, or burgundy), I apply it in 3 time and 3 moves and get out of the house as I was in a salon. But I forgot what was most important my lovely lipstick is not any lipstick. A few years ago, I was on a ski holiday in Livigno. Walking around the streets of the mountain resort, I came across a Kiko make-up shop. I walked into it and what to see, I came out after about two hours with lots of makeup bags after me.
