Garment style has always been an opportunity to show, directly or indirectly, our social status, personality and creativity. The oldest garment pieces are two pairs of yucca sandals, from 10,000 years ago, from the southwestern of US. Some had an open braiding, others  a simple face warp. This sandals style have been used for centuries, being adapted to the daily needs of women.

Celebrating the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, I was trying to imagine how garment pieces looked like during that time. I found a magic book and I extracted several lines that I want to share with you.

It seems like at that time, like men, women wore tunics of wool, cotton or linen, long till the ankle. They were made  by a large material, rectangular, wrapped over the body, caught in clips. The basic shape of the tunic was quite varied depending on social class, occupation or gender of the person who wore it. Top garments at women were longer than at men. They covered the bottom of the foot and were caught under the bust, waist or around the thights with a belt. While standing, they wore leather sandals that had a strap between the thumb and second finger, also including heel.

Women 2,000 years ago wore a lot of jewelry, especially bracelets on the wrists or above the elbows and feet. They sometimes paint their lips and fingers or toes with red dye called henna.

Whether they covered their bodies with a strip of material or nowadays, a lot of garments are tailored in various forms, textures and colors, women have always been attentive about how they look. Accessories have adorned our bodies and customized our outfits at all times.

So, beautiful women, now we have available a lot of tools to look good and feel good in our skin. We went from a drapery used as a dress, on day time, evening, street and so on, to a whole arsenal of outfits. And all this just to help ourselves to live more beautiful and be confident.
